Ahhhh....getting nervous!!
I felt the same way a little over a month ago (7/29/13 sleeve) but surprisingly that morning I was pretty calm. I was the first surgery of the morning and when I spoke with my surgeon just before they wheeled me in he really put me at ease. I hope you have a similar outcome. I felt so much better than I had expected, even right after surgery. Of course it was not a breeze the first few days but I thought I would be in much more pain than I actually had.
My tips pre surgery would be to get out your iPod and listen to some calming music or better yet ocean waves, just not while driving! My surgeon's office gave us a cd that was calming and had visualizations added. I listened to that and ocean waves prior to surgery. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
All of those emotions are totally normal. I know I definitely had a variety! I'm only 3 weeks out and feeling great!! I'm so glad I had the surgery. And I'm the same as you, this website is so helpful!! I have had a really smooth recovery with very little pain since about day 3 and no complications so far. I'm a newbie so not much advise to give. But I will say walk as soon as you can after surgery and as much as you can. Also, sip sip sip on the water and broth they give you. It really helps the nausea. Good luck to you and prayers for your surgery. You're going to do great!! Keep us updated on how you're doing!
The first few days suck..pretty much like any surgery would..but, each day is better and one more day closer to goal.
Be proud of yourself that you have made the decision to be healthier.
Here is my inspiration for you.. I am 6 days out and 12 lbs down!
Best wishes and we will see you on the losers bench!

Congrats on tomorrow's surgery!
I hope to be having surgery soon, too. I meet with my surgeon next Monday, then once I get insurance approval it could be a matter of a couple weeks. I am still 3-4 weeks away and feeling nervous, but excited. I cannot imagine & cannot wait to be in your shoes :)
Good Luck!!!
