Hi,

I am scheduled for surgery Sept 23rd and have my pre op this Wednesday.  In the last several days my seasonal allergies have really kicked in, itchy watery eyes, runny nose, cough and some sneezing, no temperature.  I am scared my surgery might be delayed because of this!  I have been taking bendryl and it seems to help some. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!  I have been looking forward to my date I really hope I don't have to reschedule........what do you think?

thanks and smiles :),

as long as you don't have a lot of congestion in your lungs , they will probably do the surgery

I would check with my surgeon about what meds you are taking to make shore there ok , some have nsaids in them , which will thin your blood

If he will prescribe it, get on some prednisone for a few days and that will help and perk you right up. It's what I use when we have our change of seasons. Of course in Texas we only have two seasons, Summer and Winter. Winter usually lasts only three days and if it hits on a weekend, we hold a barbeque.

Thanks for responding.  I was actually thinking about going to my PCP tomorrow just to get a check up, I will ask about the prednisone if I can get in.  I like Idaho with its 4 seasons, just am not liking the allergies that come with them!

Sneezing will NOT feel good after this surgery. I hope all is fixed before! Good Luck
