We had gone to Sonic because I had found out they had slushes in 5 flavor with Splenda, I thought it would be the perfect drink out of the hospital.  We went there yesterday and upon ordering, because my boyfriend is diabetic also, the girl told us there was sugar in them, we thought she was new or something and got frustrated. When we got to the window the manager came over and explained that  even though they have 5 flavor with Splenda that is a pre mix  syrup, the slush mix they use is sugar based!  What is the point?  Very scary for people who are diabetic thinking they are making good choices!  And there is nothing posted about it anywhere. And my boyfriends blood sugar has been running in the 300's on the days he was drinking them!  I will be writing Sonic a letter for sure!  Just thought you should all know!

WOW!  Thanks for the heads up.  We had one open here recently and I was taken the DH there.  I almost ordered one.  Glad I waited for ice tea at McDonalds!

NOT NICE SONIC!

Not cool! I am a Soni**** junkie and I've discovered that I can just order a water and add my Mio flavor to it. I had been ordering a water with Sonic's flavorings in it, and I had a "DUH!" moment when I thought of using Mio instead.

Your welcome!  It doesn't make sense, the people that choose Splenda usually don't want or can't have sugar.  I have been going and getting giant cups of ice, it's only 21 cents, our ice cubes at home are way to big so it works perfectly.  I am hoping I can move to soft foods Wednesday when I see my Dr.........

The 7-11 sugar-free slushies are this way as well, but since you are in the store, you can see the postings which say something like 40% fewer calories -- your clue that they are not completely sugar free!  But what you see first is Splenda -- so you think they are completely sugar free.  Not!
