Today is the 1 year anniversary since my VSG. It was by far the best decision I've ever made. I'm going to be honest... it has been easy! I've lost 102lbs (302 to 200), dropped pants sizes from 44 to 34, I run 5k races regularly (placed 3rd in my age group 30-34 in 1 race), averaging a 9:30/mile, but running my fastest mile at 7:45! I wear a size large (without the X's) shirt, and love any type of activity outdoors. I am so much happier. I have had ZERO problems, no nausea, vomiting, pain,.. nothing! The only food that I've found to not like me is cereal in milk (weird.. I think it swells and empties too fast). Other than a little reflux meds, I take no other medication. After a couple of weeks, I've had no problem getting in my protein, though fluids are still an effort. I just rarely get thirsty. I can go run 3 miles, lose 4-5lbs in sweat, and still not be thirsty.

Hopefully my quick summary will help encourage someone. I know everyone is different, but I'd do this again in a heartbeat!

Josh
