Heading to the UK tomorrow. Anything I should be aware of? (Julia?)

I'm thinking great sleeve-friendly products to try, things to know about the way food is labeled, stuff to definitely avoid, etc. I am guessing I can certainly puzzle it out, but thought I'd ask.

Thanks!
Laurie

You need to know that there are no protein drinks or bars in the regular grocery stores and some of the mainstream health food stores. Go to the market now and buy some protein bars to keep in your purse, a shaker bottle and a bag of powder if you plan to have shakes!

I was 3 mos. out when I went for two weeks in July and only found this coconut protein "ball" from a company called Bounce in Waitrose. I checked these stores for bars and drinks- waitrose, coop, morrisons, tesco, boots and M&S. I used to live in UK so I'm very familiar with the stores- was shocked now at how much energy drinks full of sugar are on display for "slimming and health" but they are BAD for us with VSG!

There are fabulous ready to eat high protein choices for meals at Waitrose and M&S- these also have mini-shops along the motorway so you can choose something better than what's available in the cafes. Also Starbucks have packs of nuts but don't expect the same kinds of high protein choices you see in Starbucks US- they are different.

Cheerio!

Yeah, the UK is great! You will enjoy it! I found a few protein shakes, RTD, in a corner store by the hotel where I stayed. Cottage cheese and greek yogurt too so I am sure you will be able to find VSG friendly foods. Where there is a will there is a way! And you can do tons of walking. Just don't forget your umbrella!

Thanks Julia! My dad and I are road tripping from heathrow to Wales to visit family, then back to London for a few days for some meetings. Thanks for the tips.
