yep.---(although to be totally transparent, some of the loss was prior to getting the sleeve-), but at this point in time I see it all as part of the whole process.

Yes. Since November 20th of last year, I have lost 215 lbs. As Miss150 mentioned, some of the loss can come before the surgery, as I was required to complete a six month supervised diet beforehand. It is certainly possible, but definitely takes a lot of commitment and hard work!

I was wondering this same thing as I am considering the sleeve and have about that much to lose.

I am currently in the six month part of getting ready for surgery and my doc wants me to lose some weight. Doesn't matter how they said it's up to me.

Can I ask what type of diet you followed before hand? I am alllll ears!

I completed my six month dietary plan in October. I followed a high protein low carb diet.

My doctor told me to follow a 1500-1600 calorie diet with less than 30% coming from fat. I ate a lot of lean protein like chicken, turkey, fish, etc. I limited my carb intake to only complex carbs (around 110grams per day), and eliminated sugar except for a little bit that came from fruit. I started drinking 100 oz of water each day and I stopped drinking soda or any caffeine.

The biggest part of this for me was that I didn't stray from the plan. What I learned about myself is that I am someone that cannot have a "little taste" of something and be fine with that. Once I eliminated sugar completely, I "toughed it out" for about 2 1/2 weeks and found that the constant hunger and cravings subsided. I got as much activity as I could at the time, which really was just a lot of walking. I was able to drop 107 lbs during the six month diet. Keep in mind though that I was a "heavyweight" and started at 444 lbs. I was "only" required to lose 44; however, I will say that giving it my all and losing as much weight as possible (and changing as many habits as possible) BEFORE surgery was one of the best decisions I've made and I strongly encourage everyone that has to do a supervised diet to use that time wisely!

I've lost 150 pounds so far, and I'm still going strong.  I will need to lose another 50 pounds to get to goal, and I think I'll make it.  The sleeve is a remarkable tool.  I love my sleeve.
