Putting this in perspective

VSG on 06/12/13
I had a great weigh in this am and am now 25 pounds and change from my goal. Then something struck me- if I lose the weight of our turkey - 15 lbs, I am at my doctor's goal. Then it is only 10 pkgs of butter or 1 gallon of milk+ 2 pkgs of butter to get tomy goal.

25 lbs? That is a 5 bags of potatoes or 5 bags of flour.

80 lbs? I have lost 3 big bags of dog food and a small bag of cat food.

What have you lost? What do you need to lose?

I've lost my golden retriever. If I lose a turkey now I'll be a happy camper.

Ha! Putting it in those terms, I have lost my Lab and one of our cats. By the time I am done, I will have lost my daughter (wait, that sounds bad). Together, my husband and I have lost our son. (That sounds bad too).

That's also TWO bowling balls (men's average bowling ball weight is 12 lbs). Congrats!

I'm just 8 days post-op but so far (including the 2-week pre-op diet), I've lost about 1.45 bowling balls. So I have about 7 bowling balls to go.

According to this:

http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual. asp?blog_id=2406725

I have lost, overall, a baby giraffe and a rack of baby back ribs since starting my insurance-required medically supervised diet in October 2012. Of that, I've lost an Irish Setter and 2 human brains since my surgery five months ago. Maybe more since I haven't weighed in for about 10 days, who knows!

I don't have a firm goal weight but in an ideal world I would lose an elephant's penis, a human brain, and a guinea pig before entering maintenance mode.

Since VSG, I've lost a 15 foot canoe.  Since the beginning of my journey 7 years ago, I've lost 100 cans of beer!  I still need to lose about 2400 pennies.

Well... I'm pretty close to losing Arnold Schwarzenegger... lol. I still have almost an air conditioner to go and it feels like that will take forever, but when I see how far I've come... 52 lbs really shouldn't be so daunting... but it is!

I'm also less than a pound from literally being half the person I used to be.... so that's exciting!
