Goal Pants and Inspiration

It has been a long time since I thought about this, and realized I hadn't seen a post on the topic for a bit- so I am just throwing this out there.  Goal pants.  Get yourself some!  Early out of surgery I bought a size 20 tall, and really felt like it would be close to impossible to reach that size- but that was my ultimate goal.  See, tall chic here at that time couldn't by tall lengths because they usually top out at size 20 for most stores.  So a size 20 was a huge deal.

Anyway, I tried them on and couldn't get them over my thighs.  Then I would try them on again a few weeks later and would notice that they were nearly over the thighs.  Then shockingly a few more weeks up over the thighs, and then not too long after that I could fasten them.  I would have never guessed at that time that  I would fit into them.  If they were not at the house I would have been wearing size 24 or so not having any idea I could wear the smaller size.

During stalls goal pants would always fit a little better despite the scale not cooperating.

So- goal pants give you something tangible to work toward and really highlight the progress made.  And you just might fit into them long before you thought you could!

I just tried on my daughter's size 8 tall, and was SHOCKED that not only could I get them up over the thighs but I could fasten them.  Hoochie mama tight and not my thing, but I didn't think I could even wear a size 10.  Something to wrap my brain around and now I am wondering if after my PS if I am going to drop a size just from having the pannis removed and lipo and such.  I actually dread the thought of having to replace the wardrobe yet again, so mixed feelings on all of that.

Anyway, have a fantastic day and get yourself some goal pants!

I did exactly that this summer - bought a pair of size 8 jeans, which I never thought I'd fit into.  Then one day when my other jeans were in the wash and I was about to go to a football watching party (Go Bison), in desperation I took them out of their package and tried them on.  They fit!  And, I tucked in my shirt for the first time ever.  I was so nervous about going out in public like that that I almost un-tucked it multiple times.  It was a great victory!

Haha, reminds me of my high school pants! I have an ugly pair of size 13 pants I wore in high school that I have kept all these years in hopes of being able to wear again. When I reached 160 lbs in 2008 after 2 years of Weigh****chers, I was wearing size 12s and could squeeze into those pants. I will definitely be excited when I can fit into them again. Ultimately I want to be smaller than that though.
