I'm getting closer!

I have my pre op meeting tomorrow with my surgeon. I have to buy my protein shakes tomorrow from their office for $250!

I would fight that one if you can.  You have no idea if you'll like it all now much less after surgery.  My surgeon's office offered it to me, but I politely declined!

Are you REQUIRED to buy from them? I wouldn't if I were you. Surgeon's offices occasionally jack up prices... Not to mention the fact that you never know if your tastes will change post op, then you're stuck with a ton of powders that you won't use... Just my opinion. I'd turn them down if I had the option. I can't imagine they'd suddenly deny you the surgery if you decided to buy them somewhere else.

It's required! They give you samples of different flavors to try and then you call with the ones you like and order them. I wish I didn't have to but I do!

Legally, they can't require that. Just like if your optometrist prescribes you glasses and tells you to go straight to their on-site store, you can request a paper prescription and take it elsewhere. It's a violation of the fraud, waste, and abuse act.
