Cookbook find- on plan and fast prep

Hi,

I am not one to endorse a specific diet plan like Atkins or WW, or what have you- so this post is not about that.  I saw a blurb on TV of a chef that was promoting his cookbook (and diet) and I think it is a very good match for how most of us eat on this board.  The nutrition information for each serving is listed for recipes, and a shopping list for each week as well.

Here is the gist of the program (and thus recipes):  Eat small amounts throughout the day to rev up your metabolism (I subscribe to this whole heartedly!).  The meals and snacks are planned so that by the end of the day you eat 850 calories, gets protein in, completely avoids refined carbs, uses shakes as options(smoothies- recipes for make your own shakes pretty much)... sound familiar?  My favorite part is that most all of the recipes are completed in under 15 minutes- that is very appealing to me since I do not enjoy long sessions of cooking in the kitchen most days.

The book:  The Pound a Day Diet by Rocco.  You can get a fairly lengthy free excerpt if you are a Kindle owner to check it out pretty good before buying.  Here is a link:

Thanks!  I LOVE cookbooks.  (Seriously, I addicted to them, I have over 200 on bookshelves in my home.)  I saw an article about this one the other day.

I recently filled out my collection of South Beach Diet cookbooks.  The phase 1 recipes that have the right protein/calorie ratio seem super solid for a post-op diet.  I'm also hoping my Cooking Light Annual collection will give me lots of useful recipes, since they all come with nutritional info, it'll be pretty easy to find ones that work!
