I so did not want to do it. I wasn't feeling it yesterday and today was not much better but I made myself go even though i really did not want to do it. It wasn't a great workout but I feel much better because I did it. I did manage to run 7mph at a 15% incline for 2 mins and even though they were optional I pounded out 20 burpees! Yay Me!

I'll be going back to Curves after work today.  Yesterday was my first visit, and I think it's a good way to ease into exercising.  I don't think I'll be going back after my first 20 visits are up though.  I think I'll need more advanced and varied workouts after that.  But it's also not as easy as it looks!

Jane I have been thinking about going to curves also. I was hoping it would help with my arms, I seem to be able to do cardio at home walking and elliptical but can not do anything else.  How often to you go ?

Like I said, yesterday was my first visit, but I plan on going 4-5 days a week.  The machines work all of your muscle groups, including your arms.  The machines are resistance based, not weight based, so the amount of work you do depends on how fast you do the movement.  The faster you go, the harder it is to do the movement.  But it is self limiting.  After time, you won't be able to progress any further and won't be able to keep making improvements in your fitness level.  I guess it all depends on what your goals are as to whether this will work for you or not.  The 20 visits I purchased on a Groupon will get me started, but then I plan on moving to a regular gym.

I have gone to Curves and I think it does great for toning. The closest one in in the next town. Our little burg doesn't have much. so it is a good 30 min.s round trip.

I did a 5 mile walk/jog.  I'm finding my walking to be faster than my jogging.  My jogging actually hurts my knee and hips/back too much, so I think walking is the way to go for me.  I would have had better times today but the damn blac**** was everywhere and it kept slipping me up.  But I feel great after the 5 miles.  Might do some arms later in the afternoon too.

I'm not where I want to be, but I am closer than I was yesterday!

On my way now. I have this new sprinting exercise I want to try. Its 20 minutes. 45 second sprint at 9.0 mph and a 15 second rest. You have to jump on the sides as its too fast to slow it down and bring it back up to speed in the allotted rest period. After that, I'll probably hop on the stair climber for a few flights and then do some weights. It's going to be a relatively light day for me, I tweaked my back on Monday.  Good luck all!
