Google NSNG and learn the right way to eat each day
In my education class, they drilled into your heads "surgery is a tool, not a solution".
My father-in-law had RNY about 3 years ago, and lost about 100 pounds, but has gained back about 30 now. Why? Because he eats as much, if not more, than before. He believes, and told me many times before I had my surgery, that "you can eat whatever you want" after surgery. I tried telling him, even then, that no... that's not how it works.
He comments now about how I avoid certain foods, and eat less than everyone else, as if it's a shock to him. (My in-laws live with us, and he has taken over cooking in the house). He's had to get over it when I come home from work, see what he made for dinner, and cook something else. It's like he's my biggest obstacle, when he should be the easiest to deal with having been there.
But still, he sticks to "I can eat whatever I want".
He's part of the reason I chose VSG over RNY.
