Gallbladder removal vs. Bariatric surgery
I had my gall bladder removed about 11 years ago, and have had 2 c-sections, about 8 and 6 years ago. I would say the recovery from the gall bladder is closest to the VSG. Pain was tolerable, nothing too bad, by far the hardest thing is that I couldn't drink normally after my sleeve without it being painful.
Hi! No gallbladder removal or c-section for me, but I did have my tubes tied laparoscopically in 2011 and I think the recovery from that was a little shorter, but more painful than the VSG recovery. It really is not that bad recovering from this surgery! I do still have some issues wearing jeans that are high fitting (I'll be 6 weeks out tomorrow).
I had a c-section 7 years ago and was sleeved 4 days ago. I'm at home, having some bloating and pain, but not bad. I'm taking the pain mediacation and it helps. I could live without it, but at night it's helping me sleep. I'm not hungry. I've been able to get in most of my water and at least 50 grams of protein. If i make a 8 oz shake with unsweetened soy milk that's 39 grams right there. The difficulty twisting, getting up and down out of bed are about the same. I don't remember the c-section that well. I imagine in a few months I won't remember this pain very well either! Wish you the best of luck!
