Will I have issues with massages post-op?  Is there anything I should warn my therapist to be careful of?  Will it be problematic for me to lay on my stomach for a while?  If so, do you know how long that might be?

My promise to myself this year was to be more kind to myself and I decided that monthly massages would be one of the ways I could achieve that.  It has actually be a challenge to be nice to myself, you know?

no doubt!  that would be a challenge for me as well.  i rarely ever get my hair trimmed because I know the money would be better spent on XYZ.   oh well.  Good for you though!

I am so totally the same way.  I'm having to force myself to get a haircut pre-op just because it seems so stupid to spend money on a haircut when I'm planning to shave it off 6 weeks post-op.  But I know I'll go insane if I just let it grow for another 8 weeks. :(

Why are you planning to shave it off 6 weeks post-op?  I'm at 3 months and just now really starting to have the hair loss.

My shaving my head for St. Baldricks and this is the time that is most convenient.  Although I do look forward to it making the post-op hair loss easier to cope with!

You will not have any issues with massages post-up.  I try to get in 2-4 massages a year.  I have not had any problems since surgery.  I don't know how long you will have to wait but you will know when you're comfortable enough to lay on your stomach.

Awesome, thanks!  I gifted my March massage to my bff, but I figure if I schedule my April one for late April I'll at least be able to have it on my back the entire time.

I went for my first full-body 60-minute massage a month post-op...no problems, no issues and I didn't tell my gal anything.
