Happy Sunday!  My surgery is in 4 days & after waiting to get insurance approval for 2 years I'm not a bit scared just extremely excited.  Question & explanation...I had to have a hysterectomy in 2012 not by choice because I wanted another child; history of PCOS first surgery Dr. removed grapefruit sized fluid/blood filled cyst and my right ovary then in 2012 another cyst so large it had grown behind and attached to my uterus- ie complete hysterectomy.  Just wondering about my sleeve surgery, Dr. knows about my hysterectomy but I have 9 yes 9 staples inside my body-I only learned this when I saw an x-ray prior to having some really large kidney stones busted up- lithotripsy procedure.

I know my stomach is in a different place than ya know down there but I'm just kind of wondering if anybody had any troubles.  Thanks in advance for your replies If I get any as this site is a blessing & helpful tool to me.

I had hysterectomy in 2005, cancerous tumors. Took uterus & cervix, built a vaginal cap. Just got sleeved 2 days ago. The uterus is far away.  The cuts for that was lower abdomen. The cuts for sleeve are under boobs. Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply & congrats on your recent weight loss surgery.  Do you or did you take hormone replacement therapy? I tried but basically only gained more weight & they didn't seem to help.  My endocrinologist told me someone as big as me should have enough estrogen built up in my body anyway but I do take a natural supplement for menopause which seems to help-similar to estroven.

You'll be fine. The sleeve surgery is no where near the uterus (or lack thereof!). Best of luck this week!

I still have all my ladybits, but I had my gallbladder removed in 2001, and the sleeve done in January of this year.  No sweat at all.   My surgeon just didn't use the same incision sites for fear of scar tissue.  (My gallbladder surgery was laparoscopic, and the biggest incision was through my navel, which is the same place that a lot of bariatric surgeons use for the largest incision for the surgery; my surgeon just made an incision a little up from and right of my navel for the largest one.)

I wouldn't worry about the hysterectomy scar tissue or anything; it's a totally different region of the abdomen than the stomach, and if my surgeon could work around my gallbladder surgery scars, yours can like as not work around your hysterectomy scars.

Best wishes!  :)

I had my gallbladder out and was hoping there would be no issues bc of it.My dr assured me it would be fine :).  I also had 2 csections.

I had the same thing.. gallbladder removed and 2 c-sections.  None of my incisions were in my bellybutton, like the gallbladder.  Everything was also on the left side, whereas most of my gallbladder incisions were on the right side.  My awesome surgeon even removed some scar tissue from the gallbladder surgery for me! :)
