I didn't mean that to be so har**** just blows my mind that there are food monitors in our life.

I see that you and I are coming from two really different points of view.  I've never had to deal with a food monitor or pusher, but I can understand if you were dealing with someone who was so rude that saying the food was unappetizing might be a good option.  (And then never going to their house again for dinner since, really, who needs that crap?!)

Depending on the people I think I'd say my stomach has been quite sensitive lately and can only eat a small amount of food at a time. I do think it is proper manners to not expect the host to cater to your new way of eating. If you are polite when talking with the host about your restriction (I like the offer to bring your own food) they may ask what you can eat. In that case I'd say I mostly eat a few ounces of protein and leave it at that.
