Why does WL Slow.......
as you lose weight? and much slower as you approach goal?
Check out this nifty calculator for calories burned walking.
At 350lbs. at a normal pace I would burn 583 cals. in 60 min
At 150lbs. at a normal pace I burn 250 cals. in 60 min
To burn 583cals at 150lbs. I would have to walk 140 minutes.
You can question the numbers all you want, but I think the ratio is pretty correct as I think it really represents how much more energy we burn carrying the EW.

That's the other side of the coin, and is more the gist behind the notional six month honeymoon period. The calorie burn rate from exertion is in continual decline from the time we start losing weight. Together they become the perfect storm (wait, don't we need three things for a 'perfect storm'? Maybe that's the metabolic damage, or 'fat trap' from which we all suffer to varying degrees?)

I am not a nutrionist, doctor, or trainor. But i would think that it takes less energy once you are smaller to do the same thing when you are larger. Think, you aren't moving as much of you around as you do now with the extra weight off. Look at it this way, when you use lighter weights you burn less or work your muscles less than when you use heavier weights.
In addition, your body does not need as many calories once you are smaller and in shape. Your body needs the right foods to function vs. all the extra calories that we used to eat.
