What was your first bite of food after finishing whatever liquid diet you had?  Was it the most amazing thing you've ever put in your mouth?

(I've got 1.5 days to go!)

Obsessed much?

I totally was.  I poured through all the bariatric cookbooks I had purchased and looked at the pictures with anticipation of bliss.

I ate lump crab meat mixed with tomatillo salsa.  It tasted wonderful; however, I overate, felt the slimes, and was miserable.  My husband came home and asked me why I was crying.

So be smarter than I was.  Not hard to do, apparently.

Aw, how much did you eat?

I've got these little teeny one ounce cups and teeny appetizer forks.  Hopefully I will remember to use them to keep myself in check!

Too much.  I was not as aware as I should have been on portion sizes.  I think I ate 3 ounces, way too much for a freshly sleeved stomach.  I decided on 3 ounces because THAT WAS THE SERVING SIZE LISTED ON THE CONTAINER.  How stupid of me.  Plus the spicy salsa didn't help.  I missed anything with flavor and spice so much that I thought it would be okay.  WRONG.

Your logic makes complete sense.  My NUT was really good about telling what my meals will look like in the future, but not so great at telling me what my portions would be like between now and then.

I loved the Ricotta Bake during my puree stage!  That and egg salad, cottage cheese, soup, etc....  But omg YES I felt like I had not eaten in years haha

I think it was scrambled egg but believe me the two teeny tiny bites I had of it were OFF THE CHARTS AMAZING.  Like the best food I've ever eaten in my life kind of amazing lol.  Hang in there!

I will await your response in 1.5 days and then curse with jealousy as I have until Friday.    But yeah, I am already obsessing! Someone brought a lasagna for my family and they are a great cook.  It's in the freezer and I think I will make it over the weekend so I can scrape out the cheesy, meaty innards!  lol

LOL, that sounds like a good plan!

I'm going to hard boil up some eggs tomorrow night and then puree them up with avocado for my first "meal."  For some reason, that sounds like the most amazing thing ever right now.  (Who am I kidding, we all know what the reason is - liquids are boring!)  I've got chili in the freezer that I'll be thawing for Thursday night's dinner and I look forward to having some of that pureed as well!  I made this batch with extra meat since I knew I'd be having it in this stage.  :)

I thought it would be amazing!  I made a little tuna salad!  I was shocked at how difficult it was to eat at all!  It tasted great!  I just could hardly eat any!  Before the surgery I would have devoured a whole can!
