A PPI is a stomach acid reducer..Prilosec, Protonix, Zantac etc..I was RX'd it to reduce stomach acid and let my stomach heal without the risk of ulceration around the staple line.

Skim milk, lowfat cottage cheese, greek yogurt have carbs..I got most of mine at 5 weeks from G2 Gatorade

Okay.. now I get it! :)  Yes, I have a prescription for Omeprazole... for that very purpose!

I eat yogurt, but am not allowed skim milk (no liquid calories per surgeon!) and I hate cottage cheese.  Any other suggestions??

My NUT also gave me no guidelines about carbs.  She was basically "well, you'll only be able to eat so much and you need to eat protein first, so you won't have room to need to worry about carbs being an issue."  I figure I'll try it her way first and if I stall, I'll switch to the "track everything, keep carbs under 40 grams" method.

A PPI is a proton pump inhibitor.  Nexium and Prilosec are examples.
