Hi everyone!

The morning of my surgery, I was overjoyed to see that I had lost more weight through the liquid pre-op phase - I weighed in at 236 - Yay!!!  The morning after, right before I checked out of the hospital, I weighed in at 246!! I know that fluid and gases need to be considered yada yada yada... but 10 lbs!!  This morning, the scale showed 244. I know that it has been only a couple of days out but still!!

How long does it take for the actual #s to show and for the body to expel all extra fluids and gases?

Relax! That weight gain is absolutely normal! I gained 12 pounds in the hospital. I lost it all within a week and by the end of 4 weeks I was down 23 pounds from my morning of surgery weight.

Totally fluids. Not sure how long it will take for your body to shed it, but it will happen!

I gained 25!!!! It took over a week before the extra was gone-but it sounds like yours is already coming off. Day 3 or 4 after surgery is common to lose the extra fluid. No worries. I'm 3 weeks out and down 20 pounds!

You were given LOTS of fluids during and after surgery. Plus it's a different scale than your home scale. One doctors office scale is the same as my home scale and the other doctors scale weighs me in at 3 pounds heavier.

Just had my sleeve this past Monday.  I gained 10lbs of fluid too.  Went into surgery at 382; weighed 392 after surgery.  The Friday after surgery I had a follow up appointment and I was 384, which makes sense because the first day home after surgery all I did was pee.  Keep yourself hydrated at home by drinking your liquids and eventually you'll start losing all tha****er weight.

I too gained 10 lbs and it took 1 week to get it off.
