Surviving Paris...food porn with photos

How fun, and it sounds like you are enjoying your trip, all this wonderful!

I lived in Mareil Marly - a small suburb of Paris for 2 years and used to shop at the markets every day ...   Parisiennes eat just as we should, small meals several times a day and the food is fresh and unprocessed.  Bread is bought every day and wine may be consumed at lunch and dinner!

If you have never left the US, you have no idea how most other countries eat - it is very different and generally way healthier.  Of course, the poor in European countries certainly suffer obesity as we do here.

Which arrondissement are you in?

i'm off for London on Sunday night and meeting my wife at CDG on Friday - then we're off to Basse-Normandie (on the trail of my ancestors), then Bordeaux for a week.

I only eat bread in france. Never seem to gain weight from it :)
