My First 5K
I got gutsy and signed up a couple weeks ago for a color run/walk to help support Relay For Life. Now I am nervous and am hoping that I can make it the whole 3 + miles. I walk about 1.5 miles a couple of times a week, but I have never walked 3 miles in one "setting". I hope I can make it.

Thanks :) It's Saturday LOL. I have been peddling away on my exercise bike to try and work out some kinks. Hope that helps.

You can do it! I did my first one back in March to celebrate my 41st birthday. I hadn't walked 3.1 miles all at once either before that, but I did ok. :) You will be great--just carry a water bottle with you, make sure you go walking in the shoes you'll wear to the race, pop in some good tunes and you'll be good to go!
I just did one last week to celebrate having lost over 250 pounds to date. It was an amazing, emotional (I burst into tears as I crossed the finish line) and exhilarating experience.
I posted about the experience here on the boards under the topic 5K = Success!

You can do it!!!!!!!!
I was super super scared for my first 5K...it was in March and in Michigan that translated to like 10 degrees outside. But I just put one foot in front of the other and once I saw the finish line my emotions and joy kind of cared me over it. I've since done my first 5K run and have my second one tomorrow and I am hooked!
And this is coming from the girl who literally would walk a block or two and be dripping with sweat, in serious pain, out of breath and would need to sit down. You got this! Have fun and wear your medal with pride if you get one, I wore mine the entire day lol :) :)
