F*CK! Another surgery with a 4 week recovery

I had a double mastectomy, and was under the impression that when it was time to go in for the "exchange" (trading out the tissue expanders for the implants) that it would be an outpatient procedure, and 2 weeks or less recovery that would require missed work.  Many women say online that a few days will do it before going back to work.  Me?  Oh F*ck no!  4 weeks.  I am so pissed, and so incredibly tired of surgeries right now.  This constant recovery bullsh*t and not being able to exercise for such extended periods of time is really getting to me at this point.  Sorry about tha rant :(

Anybody that survives any kind of cancer has the right to vent all they want. HUGS!!! I just wish I had a better reconstructive surgeon because mine left me with boobs that look like hanging pizza dough! So see it could be worse, fortunately I'm over 60 and hubby says he's just glad I'm here, doesn't matter what I look like! What a great guy. It is very dissappointing tho to keep running into road blocks you hadn't planned on. Hang in there and keep plugging away and soon it will all be a distant memory and life will be good!

I used to always recover ahead of schedule.  The last couple surgeries I am way, way behind the curve.  I am really going to focus in on my nutrition between now and then, as i suspect that is part of the problem.  Back when I recovered quickly I was getting in an average of 120 grams of protein and juicing greens several times a week, and in general eating cleaner than I am now.  Working back toward that now :0)

Thank you for the kind words everyone.  I am pretty sure I just need a nap :)  Teachers have gruelling schedules going into the last week of school, and this year is particularly difficult because I just came off a medical leave and essentially need to grade projects for over 800 kids and get the grades uploaded. Almost done, and then I can get some rest. Then I won't be so cranky.  It really isn't like me!

Oh, heck, you've definitely earned the right to vent. It's been a hard year!
