6-Months Over, So Many Questions...
Bufflehead, I will check out the Trader Joe's brand. And I never thought about a liquid supplement, that is a good option. I will check those out too.
I am glad I have stocked up on sick days and vacation days. Hopefully someone can put the equipment in place while I am out and then I can just roll around and configure stuff. I started this job in October and really don't want to take a ton of time off, but on the other hand, I want to be healthy when I return to work and I don't need any set-backs.
Thanks so much for the information.

1) I used Centrium Chewables 2X a day. The gummies are a no no, they don't have enough and it isn't easy for us to use even what they have.
2) I used the AmeriWell that you plopped into water and drank though out the day at first. Counted as fluid
3)I was given a 10 pound limit for 6 weeks
4) That would depend on the weight limit you surgeon imposes and what your work place requires. My work place wouldn't let me back when I had a 20 pound limit. I had to be able to pick up carry at least 70 pounds.
I am thinking I will probably have a weight lift limit after I tell the surgeon what I do. I'd rather be restricted in what I lift than to miss a ton of work, so maybe I can just do some desk wor****il I can lift more. That's OK though, I can only do what I can do, right? I will check out the Centium chewables. I guess I will finish up the current gummies and look for something with more punch.
Thanks for the info Pineview.

They reused the same small holes to remove it. I had it for almost 4 years. My body made a pseudo capsule of scare tissue around the flipped port. This is why it became so pain full to fill and unfill it. They had to cut the capsule and remove the port and than cut out the capsule of scare tissue. They were able to do this and bring the band out thru the large incision. This is the same incisions they bring the stomach out of with the sleeve.
You can probably do gummies but they have higher carbs - make sure you account for them in your total carb count for the day. I use a Calcium Citrate from the Vitalady website. And I use Swanson's Vit D 5000iu.
I was cleared to lift over 10 lbs. after 6 weeks and I only took 6 days off of work; had the surgery on Friday, was off all that next week and went back the following Monday. I have a desk job though where I do a lot of sitting so that worked for me.
Tracy D., thanks for the info. I didn't think about counting the carbs in the gummies! Good catch. The nutritionist gave our nutrition class a vitamin to sample, tasted like sweet tarts. I should have paid better attention to the name. I will check out Vitalady.

(1) We were told no gummies as they are usually not complete and/or have high sugar content. In fact, when I met with my nutritionist, she said "If you go to the USA often (we live in Canada, but fairly close to the border), pick up some of these." Centrum Orange Chewables I take two of these every morning and then additional Vitamin D, Calcium Citrate, and I need to take Iron as well (iron deficiency that is bloody persistent!) with Vitamin C for the absorption.
(2) I was told that any brand of Vitamin D is okay, but to make sure I am getting a total of at least 2000iu per day. For Calcium Citrate, I have Opurity at the moment. It's great stuff!
(3) I would ask my surgeon about when I could lift things. I was told by my surgeon that I couldn't lift anything over 10 lbs for 6 weeks (there's a risk of causing a hernia).
(4) Here, we are given 4 weeks off work, but if I didn't have that time, I probably could have gone back to work after 2 weeks, assuming I had an office job. Again, check with your surgeon on this one.
Good luck as you prepare for your surgeon's appointment and upcoming surgery!
