A new normal?
I was hungry tonight and didn't like the feeling. Not sure if my mental feeling over being hungry was disappointment or fear or something else. (or head hunger).
3 months ago, I would have ordered a buy one get one pizza, maybe a side of breadsticks and picked up a bottle of wine.
Tonight, I added a lowfat string cheese to my 3oz of steak (pan seared, no oil). Then I repeated three hours later (usually I wait 4 hours and need to remind myself to eat more to reach my protein goal).
Total calories before lunch 444 and 52g protein, total calories after lunch 450 and 76g protein. About 100 to 150 more than I'd like for a day :/
And roughly 6,000+ calories less than when I had a similar feeling preop :)
Way to stick to your plan
And I bet that steak and cheese were delicious. (Of course everything sounds delicious to me since I can't have steak and cheese for another week and a half. But you got through it!!
Pizza was my go to binge pre-op! I could eat a large Dominoes pizza, an order of stuffed breadsticks, and a 2 liter of diet coke by my self!!! Now when I feel that hunger I grab a beef stick, string cheese, or a protein shake. I feel so much better now!!
Super proud of you for making a healthy choice! keep up the great work!
