Surgery by Robot

I am going to have my sleeve surgery tomorrow at Largo Medical Center (across the bay from Tampa) with the Da Vinci robotic system.  There are videos on You Tube of this surgery being performed.

I will let you know when surgery is over regarding how it goes.  This system gives the surgeon a much better view of what is happening during surgery, though.

I won't be having surgery until Dec. but my physician will be using a similar robotic system called Spyder. It's not just the size of the incisions but the number that is different.  Regular laproscopic surgery would require 5 incisions whereas the Spyder robot would leave me with only 3 post op.
