Don't worry Kinde your fine... 4 days out from major surgery plus you had an extra... you will be very tired.... try to make sure to walk as much as you can but please please drink your water or you will dehydrate. .... it will take some time before you feel some real energy!!! I'd say it will get better each day and each week but for at least 4 to 6  weeks you will get tired quicker !!! But on a better note with the weight loose ...you will get more and more energy!!! Where I used to sleep 10 to 12 hrs a night and still I was exhausted ... I now sleep 6 to 7 and i feel great!!!! And that's only 5 and 1/2 months out!!! Everyone I'd different ... so take your time!!!! :-)

Congrats on making the best decision ever to reclaim your life. You won't regret this. It's a only a tool in your new toolbox but it's a fabulous one!  If you use it right, the payoff is like winning the lottery :). Fatigue is normal-you're body just went through a big change but it is changeable. The worst thing you can do is convalesce- that's what got you here in the first place.  Get up and get moving. Remember, this was an elective decision you made to get healthy. I'm not suggesting running or weight lifting-your MD will tell you when that's ok. Get walking-walk, walk, walk. This speeds recovery,  is crucial in pain management-(you'll find you won't need as many pain meds)-prevents blood clots, increases energy, weight loss and motivation and gives you a sense of control. Get up around the house and resume your activities of daily living. If you need to sit down and rest a little, that's fine too. Everytime you walk, increase your time and distance. Before you know it you will be a whirlwind zipping along everywhere-it's surreal. You'll feel great and your clothes will start falling off you-lol. Shopping becomes fun again. If you do what you've always done then you'll get what you've always gotten. Good luck and welcome to the club!

I was exhausted for months.  I'd end up taking a long (3 hour) nap many afternoons.  I think our body needs the time to heal after surgery, and  the exhaustion is our body telling us to slow down so we can put our energy into healing.  It did last longer than I expected, but it did pass, and I'm much more energetic now than before surgery.

Hang in there and pamper yourself for a while.  It'll get better.
