Can I have pasta that is cooked really soft for soft food diet?

I have not had surgery yet, but I have read my instructions and food list and pasta is not allowed. My program stresses as low carb as possible.

You should be focusing on protein first.  Pasta does nothing for you nutritionally.  After you've had a fair amount of meat and cheese, then have a taste of pasta with your last bite.

I'm not a dietician, but I've been told to stay away from rice, pasta, and bread.  I'm at goal, and won't even think of eating these items.  I don't miss them.  They don't provide any nutritional benefits that I am aware of, and I don't want to stretch my newly-created stomach.
