Planet Fitness

Does anyone have a Planet Fitness membership, and if so, how do you like it? I see the ads on TV all the time and have been emailing them to ask if they foresee opening a center in South Haven, Michigan. Even sent them a .PDF file of a Save-A-Lot store that is closing and would be an awesome location for them!

South Haven has a wellness center affiliated with the local hospital, but it is about $60-$75 per month. There is an Anytime Fitness there too, but it is about $50 a month. I can do $10 a month for PF. If you have a membership, please let me know how you like going there?

Hi Dawn! Planet Fitness is the gym I belong to. I'm also in MI, but on the other side of the state. I use to work out Fitness 19 ($19 a month) and I like Planet much better. My gym is huge, a  ton of machines, quipment, etc. They have a dedicated abs station, a 30 minute workout area with stations. They have nice big locker rooms, friendly staff and thier hours work great for me.

Thanks for responding GoBlueGirl. I am praying they open one near me, I'd LOVE it. I live about 6 miles from South Haven so I could go there every day. The building location I sent them would be ideal: across the street from senior housing; about 1/4 mile from the lake, in the heart of tourist territory. It would be a win for PF and a win for me LOL.

Do you have fitness 19 in the area?? They aren't bad and could be something to look into as well

I also belong to Planet Fitness and. I love it. The hydro massager is awesome! Lol it's always very clean and has everything I need currently in a gym. I am thinking eventually though as I loss more weight I'd like to participate in classes which PF does not have. But it's all good for now. I will cross that bridge when i come to it!

No, we have a center that belongs to the local hospital and an Anytime Fitness. Both are pretty pricey.

I am searching for a gym too.  We have a gym affiliated with St Anthony's hospital in St. Pete FL, and it is awesome, but the monthly fee is $50.  I joined the City of Largo gyms, but there is never anyone in the fitness center to ask questions.  One is really on their own.  And I hate that.  But it cost ten dollars a month, because I live in the city of Largo FL.  I am looking for a real gym.  Sigh.

Whew all this talk about a hydro massager got me looking into if there's a gym near me & wouldn't you know there is one opening up & the price of $10 a month with no commitment or $20 with one is right up my alley. I only worry with it being a franchise if the equipment is up to snuff. I belong to Bally's & the other gyms leave a lot to be desired, which is why I belong to a smaller gym called Harbor fitness which is good & has hours that fits in with my schedule. Hopefully this gym will be good too cuz it's a lot closer to my home. Will let you know how it is when it opens up. 

You might want to check out your local community college if you have one.  That's where I take all my fitness classes (there's also a gym and pool) and it works out to $30/month.  Which is pretty awesome.
