Getting frustrated...
When I made spaghetti for my family, I ate the sauce over an Italian sausage with some mozzerella cheese. That is delicious! I've been trying to do that more often. It seems like lately I've just been eating hamburger with cheese. I'm trying to be more creative. I live in a very small town in the middle of Wyoming...6 hours away from any metropolitan area, so we have no frozen yogurt shops, let alone any that serve something low carb. But, I will try your milk shake idea! Thank you! My doc said I can eat sugar as long as I have protein first so I don't dump. I just have to do it in very low amounts.
I do the sausage/meatball with sauce and cheese thing too. Usually I don't even bother making the pasta (I live by myself), but if I do, I try to use whole wheat pasta, and I only eat maybe half a cup of it.
In theory we don't dump, but those of us who experience it know that we do. I sometimes have foods that others might consider a no-no, so long as I can eat it in control and i work it into my daily calorie goals - i.e., a slice of pizza, some pasta and very often I eat a no sugar added fudgesicle. They are quite yummy and will satisfy your urge for something good - without going right through you. I think the key is control. I know I can't eat a bagel or any portion of one without them calling to me for days. However, a small portion of pasta, pizza or something similar works for me. Also I often eat a mini-babybel lite and 8 wheat thins or 4 triscuits. I don't see anything wrong with that. However, if your nut says no carbs, i guess it would be a problem. My program is not anti-carb. Good luck - and I say don't torture yourself, but make sure whatever you eat you can eat in control and then forget about it.

I highly reccomend googling "cauliflower pizza crust" and adding meaty toppings and cheese to the top. So much protein without the carbs. Plus you get a sneaky veggie in! I love it and it totally satisfies the pizza cravings. Also, have you tried doing small pizzas on one half of the double protein english muffins?

It's not necessary to see one who specializes in disordered eating, just to find one you click with. My therapist is still capable of giving me insight and ideas even though I'm the first WLS person she's seen.
