3 Year Surgiversay

What a great 3 years!

I have improved my health, my outlook, and in far too many ways to list everyt8ing! My most appreciated improvements are:

1. Significant reduction in future cancer risk.

2. Physically able (when not recovering from other unrelated surgeries) to do whatever my heart desires.

3. General health is excellent! Lost the diabetic status, blood work is substantially improved, normal bmi, free of any trace of cancer.

4. I feel great- both physically and emotionally (not including the current recovery from the final surgery on the reconstruction post double mastectomy)

5. Better role model for my children!

Made it to goal in 8 months. Maintenance from that point up until this past April was a breeze. Had a double mastectomy in April that has given me some issues, not that this is an excuse for regain.... still under goal though, just ate my way back through most of what my "cushion" was set at in that first year. Multiple surgeries continue to make it difficult or impossible to exercise, but I am closing in on what should be a final recovery and release to get back to the gym here in another 5 weeks or so.

Biggest challenge continues to be my sugar demon and in general carbs. Best defense is exercising at night when able, use of protein shakes, and mindful eating.

In all, if you are on the fence just dive in! The water is fantastic on this side!

Congratulations on the 3 years it's been enjoyable and a learning experience reading your post  I remeber commenting on one of them and King Frisco decided right then to block me. I haven't looked back since. It's The best thing that could have happened.
