More about hair

First off don't be mad because my start weight may not be what you considered someone whom needed  wls. I did thank you! I had several medical conditions. I had my gallbladder taken out and didn't lose any more hair. I lost more than 68lbs and if I didn't need it my surgeon wouldn't have done the operation for me and I wouldn't have gotten approved right away! Speak about what you know not what assume. Because it makes an ass out of you. There are plenty of ppl that started off around my weight!

I mentioned it as you used it to give credence to your post - as in you were an expert as you had made goal in 6 months - which by the way I congratulate you on.  However - in my WLS world - there is a big difference between obese - morbidly obese and super morbidly obese and making goal.  This is my opinion.  I congratulate anyone who makes goal - but I listen to those who have lost and kept off a great deal of weight long term - they are my experts.

For my height I  was considered morbid obese. 213 was not my original weight.  I do too. My mother had RNY 10 yrs ago and has kept off the weight. And so have my aunt and several cousins.  I saw what they did right and I learned what my body needs and how to work my sleeve. I listen and do what's best for me. What's best for me may not be what's best for you but there's no need to belittle ppl or downgrade them. We all have the same journey just different paths we have to take.

Well for starters, please tell us about all the science you have disproved in your life.  Secondly, correlation is not causation, but I have no doubt you will not understand what this means whatsoever. HINT: the fact you liked the results of your shampoo doesn't mean it reversed or had any effect on your hair loss.  Teflon effluvium is a medical fact stemming from surgery or some other kind of traumatic event for your body (car accident, pregnancy, etc).  Also, I'm 6.5 months out from surgery, I've also done great, and that has absolutely no bearing on what I know about WLS hair loss.

1. I have a master's degree.  (It simply means that one thing cannot determine the outcome for everything).

2. Do not question my intelligence.

3. I didn't use the shampoo thank you. I used only the oil.

4. My hair thinned. It didn't come out in chunks nor could you see my scalp. I didn't lose my hair from any other major surgery I had nor any of my pregnancies my hair actually grew from being pregnant.

5. Congratulations to you. And what I knew to work for me cannot be discredited by you or anyone else that has not tried it.

1.  Me too.  /wanking motion

2. It seems appropriate given your responses.

3. Well thank the flying spaghetti monster.  I had been worried you had fallen for a scam!

4. My hair didn't thin either.  I shed a few more than usual and it's basically stopped now.  I don't use this as evidence that telogen effluvium doesn't exist.  Us gals with masters degrees would never do that, right?

5. Congrats to you as well, although I have no idea for what.  And correlation doesn't equal causation; I'll keep saying it even though you don't understand the meaning.

I'd rather you just say what you mean and tell me to go **** myself instead of "have a blessed day" but to each their own.  We agree on the fact that this is getting nowhere.

"1. I have a master's degree.  (It simply means that one thing cannot determine the outcome for everything)."

Huh?  What does having a Master's degree have to do with anything (and is what is in parentheses supposed to be your explanation for "correlation is not causation")?? I have multiple Master's degrees and a PhD, but that doesn't make me omniscient nor does it give me the ability to defy medical science all over the place.

Just FYI, most people who lose weight after surgery do NOT lose it in clumps nor do they lose so much that their scalp is easily visible.  Many people who lose a significant amount of hair after WLS have never lost hair after any other surgeries.  I, for example, lost literally half of my hair after my RNY, but didn't lose any hair at all after ANY of the dozen other surgeries I have had in my lifetime.

WLS is a double whammy... Not only do you have the surgery itself and the anesthesia, but you also have a body that is trying to heal when it is getting very little nutrition.

As I pointed out in my other response, you cannot possibly "know" what you claim to know about how this oil affected your hair loss since you have no possible way of knowing how much hair you would have lost, or for how long, if you hadn't used it.
