Whatcha eating today? Tuesday, 9/27/2016
For me, things like this were what made me finally get my binge eating disorder diagnosed so I could get treatment. I'd learned the diagnostic criteria almost a year earlier, but ignored all the symptoms that should have been a big, blinking neon sign.

I've identified a weak spot in my diet resolution and should have done something about it today, but did not. Result? Junk carb calories. I had to drive 2 hours for a doctor's appointment this morning. It was about noon when I was ready to return. No lunch planned and I didn't want to stop and have a healthy lunch somewhere 'cause I didn't want to get caught in Baltimore beltway gridlock. So when I stopped for gas, I grabbed a muffin inside. Didn't even taste very good. 450 blasted calories!!! My calorie total today will be over by 200, 'cause it's hard to compensate for that kind of calorie-bomb. Next time, and there will be a next time, I WILL PACK A LUNCH. I'm going to mentally write it on the blackboard 100 times.
- Coffee w/cashew milk
- Cinnamon muffin. Nuff said.
- Chicken/sausage/vegetable soup ala psychoticparrot
- Snacks: 1/2 cup seedless grapes
W&V: On track and on the patch.
E: Drove 4 hours on I-83 and I-695. Too bad driving doesn't burn calories, 'cause it's a sucky, sucky drive.

I always make sure I have a Quest bar for exactly this reason. If I'm super hungry or stressed or whatever, it's entirely too easy to justify stopping somewhere to get crap. But if I've got a Quest bar handy, I either eat it, or deal with not eating because I want something better once I get back home.

That's exactly the kind of thing I need -- not something too tasty that would tempt to eat it right away, but just tasty enough to keep me from eating cinnamon calorie-bombs.
Thanks for your usual good advice, Gwen. ![]()

You're welcome! That's pretty much how it works for me. I can't justify buying peanut M&Ms when I -could- eat the cookies and cream Quest bar in the car. But then I don't really want the Quest bar, so I just "suffer" until I get home. (Unless I actually need food, then I eat the darned Quest bar.) ;)

Unfortunately for me, I really like the Quest bars...could be dangerous!
Heh. Quest bars were just an example. :)
When my BED was at its worst, right before diagnosis, I was eating them like candy bars. 2-3 a day :/
