Finding it easier to eat ice for my water than actually drinking it

I used to LOVE guzzling down water. I could drink it quickly and easily, but of course now after my surgery I can't. I am on week 3 post-op and have found that filling a glass with crushed ice from my dispenser and eating it with a spoon is so much easier. Is it alright to consume most of my water of the day like what? Crushed ice with a little lemon juice poured in and a teeney bit of salt sprinkled on and it's a dessert almost. Anyone else find eating ice easier than sitting and drinking through the day?
Whatever it takes to get it in. It really does get better. I've drank a gallon without really trying the last 3 days. I'm 5 months out.

I'm glad it works out to be the same, ice is so much easier for me to get in!
As long as you get your liquids in, that's what matters :) Sugar free popsicles are a good option for many as well.
Just.. don't crunch it because then your dentist will hate you.

Chewing ice or craving ice is a firm of pica due to iron deficiencies. When you see a doc - ask them to order a complete iron panel - including ferritin. Without testing ferritin- they can't tell if you are really deficient in iron.

Thanks for the advice! I'm not craving ice though. Ice is just easier for me to eat over drinking my liquids.
