Topic: RE: pain... 9 months out... could it be my gallbladder?
ok so i'm nine months out of VSG surgery and i've lost 118 lbs so far... today i am experiencing a frustrating, annoying pain that feels like it's right behind my rib cage but carried over to my right side... i've read alot about people having gall bladder issues after VSG... could this be it? i know most of you are going to tell me to go see my doc, and ur right, but right now i'm just looking for some suggestions or personal experience with this crap... thanks...

Topic: RE: what CANT you eat?
and HERE is the smart-ass remark i've been waiting to see, you go diane!!!

Topic: RE: what CANT you eat?
any kind of soft breads are a no-no, they make me ill, pastas too,
after 2 smalle bits of pasta i'm ready to hurl... (toast, or crackers though, are ok!)
i can't eat rice either, and that's a serious staple for us mexicans... beans, nope...
i'm losing my mexican-ness... sonofa*****!
i can handle 5-6 french fries, the small skinny kind (not steak fries)
eggs are a definite NO,
milk gives me the runs, and nuts i can eat but like maybe 6 peanuts and i feel like a stuffed sausage...
on the bright side though... i CAN eat STEAK, GROUND BEEF, CHICKEN, FISH (INCLUDING TUNA), AND PORK CHOPS (2 -2.5 oz at a time) and all kinds of deli meats and cheeses... yay!

Topic: RE: 7 months out, 108 lbs gone, 6 sizes down...w/pics
I usually try to post my before/after pics every month on the day of my surgiversary... which is the first of every month, so here they are...

I have lost 108 pounds as of this past Monday (I only weigh on Mondays), I have gone from a 30/32 in top & bottom, to a 14/16 (or XL) top and 18 bottoms, as always my ass makes my bottom one size bigger than my top, but that's always been that way even when i was a 10 top 12 bottom...LOL...
I can't believe how far I've come in such a short time, and I'm not always good about my diet, so for anyone reading this who wants to do it but is afraid to fail... it's really very, very difficult to fail, because if I can do this (and I'm horrible about eating the "right" crap) ANYONE can do it...
I post these pics because not only do they help me see how much I've accomplished and how far I've come, but I hope that they will help someone out there, reading these posts, to have courage and hope for themselves too...
hugs,
Carmen

remembering the past is good but only if it makes you smile... planning for the future is even better, as long as it continues to give you hope... but the best thing to do is just live for today, be a good person, and have enough faith to put the rest in God's hands...
wow, i can't believe i wrote that, i'm like all deep and ****

Topic: RE: Slightly unusual response to my before picture on my profile!
a while back someone posted that there are men who have fat girl websites who troll WLS type of sites and jack your "before" pics to put on their website... there were a few women on here who were victims of these weirdos and i know they tried to do something about it, but i dont know if they ever got anything done... i clicked on the links that the lady posted and sure enough there were pics on those weirdos' websites that came from here on OH... without anyone's permission... just a heads-up...

Topic: RE: 2010? WTF?
Ok, so ten years ago, we thought the world was going to end because it's entirely connected to an outlet, and God laughed... Now the world is going to end in 2012 because the calendars say so (God's still laughing)... which gives me two years to get to my goal weight and size and strut my stuff for a little while... so i have about 50-some pounds to go...
Unbelievable to me that I've even come this far... still seems like a dream that I don't want to wake up from... I still feel like i weigh 340 lbs... not physically but in my head... I still size up chairs before I sit in them... Still think I'm not going to fit as I'm walking between people at the store or in restaurants... As I'm pulling up my jeans or slacks I still think they are going to stop dead at my knees because they just look 4 sizes too small...Then I look in the mirror and I'm like "**** wow, holy crap!"
When I suck in my stomach I see RIBS... Ribs.... did y'all get that? Ribs? Who knew? When I lie on my side I can feel my ribs and hip bone pressing into the bed. When my two year old sees my before and after pics she says "Big Mom, Little Mom" as she points to each respectively. Yes my boobs are a bit saggy but my husband says they still look "cute" ... I'll take cute, I'm ok with cute... Yes I have an apron that if I didn't have I'd probably be 2 sizes smaller than I am now (18) but my husband "doesn't even notice it." Saggy boobs/saggy skin vs. NO MORE PAIN... **** I'll take that too...
I danced in heels... I partied with high school friends who still look like they did in high school... I'm feeling wonderful, looking better, eating pretty much whatever I want (breads and pastas still make me feel ****ty, though; but it's a great deterrent) and I'm lucky that I really love everything I can eat like: steak, pork chops, chicken, ground beef, all kinds of cheese, fruit, and once in a while even a veggie, lol...
I am glad I found this place... So many people who have WLS have no clue that this website exists and they are really all alone, or at least they feel that way, and are really unprepared for everything they are going to experience... But you guys... you guys have made this journey for me so easy and I feel prepared, and I don't get scared, and I don't freak out, because everything I went through, or will go through, someone here has already experienced it, freaked out about it, posted about it, and given me the opportunity to learn from someone else's mistakes... Thank you for that...
I am feeling so blessed... so lucky... so happy... and so excited for this new year we are about to embark on... I know my weight loss has slowed a bit, I know why and I know how to fix it... Here's to a new year where I can tweak my diet, continue losing, and continue feeling so blessed. Here's to a wonderful website with wonderful friends, wonderful partners in crime (that means you, Mr. G. and you, Brandi), and wonderful experiences (positive and negative) that have left us stronger and smarter, and better than ever... Here's to VSG, here's to Health, Love, and Life...Here's to You!

Topic: RE: Click espresso...help me
well since the surgery i'm a little bit lactose intolerant, and when i tried it with water i wasn't crazy about it, then i tried it with Mootopia which is a lactose free milk that has 12g of protein per 8oz... so when i make my Click, in 12 oz of Mootopia, alltogether it comes out to 33g of protein, but it does carry 23g of carbs, so if ur a hardcore carb watcher, Mootopia might not be milk for you... also it is a product of H.E.B. which is a grocery store chain here in Texas...
i buy my click through Amazon, so i ordered the shaker that they sell along with it for 6 bucks, it's AWESOME! i just pour in the milk then the 2 scoops, shake it up for about a minute, heat it up for 2 minutes, add 2 splenda and 1 stok (an extra shot of caffiene) because my job just requires that kind of caffiene, lol...
i love the end result, a very creamy sweet taste, it's like a cappuccino... and i drink it every day, first thing in the morning... even right now when i'm off for Christmas vacation...

Topic: RE: Monday Weight In
i haven't done this in a couple of weeks but i weighed in today (against all odds) and i was pleasantly surprised...
12/15/09 - 234
today - 230
so it's -4 lbs in the past two weeks... considering the crap i've been eating, i'm pretty stoked...
