I hate the free hypglycemia that came free with it, but everything else is more than worth it.

You know, it's way, way easier to find size 3-4-5 than to find size 28's in cute stuff? Think thrift stores and clearance racks!

general health is better, labs are WAY better. And yes, wish the surgery I have today ws available 20 years earlier! (don't think I want what WAS available!)

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

Michelle, I'm a pre-op (WLS scheduled 6/25)*****ads the grad board to find out what I can expect my life to be like in the future.  I was very interested in your post regarding your hypoglycemia.  I have hypoglycemia pre-surgery and my surgeon told me that I will need to keep a close watch on that post-surgery.  Can you give me any advice/pointers as far as dealing with this after WLS?   Thanks, Eileen

Avoid sugars, goes without saying. But of the episodes I can trace they are more likely to be bread or pasta, not sugar.

And then there are the ones with no identifiable cause.

And even tho I eat and/or drink protein every 2 hours or so, I still have these now & then.

But the treatment is the same and that is peanut butter crackers (in the car, in my purse-in a hard glasses case, even in the house), or PB on white bread.

I've only used glucose once, when I crashed right in front of a pharmacy.

If I am at home or in a store when this happens, I drink skim milk.  I have tried solid foods before and it doesn't act as quickly for me as the milk does....Just a thought
