Day 1 5DPT -- a long day indeed!
Well it's 3pm and I have 2 hrs left here at work and then I face the long night at home ahead of me...sigh.
I REALLY need to stick with this but at about 1pm I was almost ready to throw in the towel and head downstairs for something ANYTHING!
So far today I have had a low carb slimfast, a vanilla protein shake, split pea soup for lunch, sugar free jello, a cup of decaf chai tea and I am about to get me a 2nd cup. oh yes and I have chewed the heck out of 2 pieces of gum! If I make it through day 1, day 2 has to be easier, right???
I posted on the main board this morning hoping to get some encouragement but only got one answer.
Anyone out there? Please tell me this really worked for you, but you back into focus, because I have been a very delinquent Post-op for way too long.
Thanks!
Rosemary

Rosemary,
I am right with you babe.. day 1 of 5 day today and it was murderous... still have 5 hours left. I did cheat a little... had pumpkin bread batter when making mini muffins for my kids... it is a liqud right?
Tomorrow can't be worse, can it? Drinking lots of crystal light and using slim fast low carb shakes also... (only one I can tolerate without gagging). We can do this... its only one more day right... I also am using gum to make it through.. it helps to keep my mouth busy..
This is the first time for me doing the pouch test... I am not really expecting to lose weight, I just want to gain some control and tighten my pouch...
Keep up the good work...
You can do it...

105 pounds gone forever!!!!
Day two is easier...You don't have to eat (drink so little)...You can have more than that! That's barely enough to live on! LOL Have something hearty for dinner tomorrow...like lentil soup with sausage crumbles (pureed) or chili bean soup with melted cheddar cheese...
By day 3 you are soooo ready for more solid food and when it's over....Peace in the pouch! LOL
And restriction! I did it at 4 years out and was amazed at the results...Didn't lose weight. (4 lbs that didn't want to stay off) But was able to stay on track these last 6 months afterwards...So it's worth it to me...I was so off track at the time I did it...and I truly learned a lot about myself doing it. I struggled trying to lose weight afterwards, but began journaling my intake and that made me more aware of how much I was eating and togeher with the pouch test i was able to get off a winter gain of 10 pounds....and been maintaining as I have since weight loss stopped...and reached it's place at about 165 lbs... I bounce around 2-3 lbs...but stay right about here...I don't dare hit 170 or I am out running- heat stroke or not! I will not gain my weight back! PERIOD! LOL I will get ugly with myself and kick my own butt! It's a deal I have made with myself and I'm not going there without a fight...So...You can do this for 5 days! C'mon girl!
