Well, today begins the count down to a nice three day weekend...It was hectic at work. I had to fix things I messed up really good last week while my work partner was out and then we had other stuff...brush fires. I was actually lucky I got in as much as I did.

List for the day:

5:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:30 am 1/3 cup instant oatmeal, 1/4 cup fine granule TVP, 1 cup plain soy milk, 3 large strawberries chopped
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, SoBe Living Tropical
8:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
9:30 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc roasted turkey breast deli meat
10:30 am 12 oz Drink Mix, Wild Strawberry
11:00 am 3.5 oz pork chop,
12:00 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Wild Strawberry
1:00 pm 1 calcium citrate tablet (since it's not necessary to take calcium citrate with food but I can't drink with it either).
1:20 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Mixed Berry
2:20 pm 1 hard boiled egg
2:30 pm 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese and 1 T SF Preserves
3:15 pm 12 oz Drink Mix,Mixed Berry
4:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Peach
6:00 pm 4 oz tilapia fish, broiled/grilled w/lime and cilantro, 1/3 cup canned mixed veggies, 1/4 cup mashed potatoes

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1266
Fat: 37.8
Carbs: 94.7
Protein: 133.5

Nice numbers. I can have about 100 more calories. I'm thinking maybe a half cup of nsa ice cream.

That is a lot of tvp.  I don't care for the texture so I think I would have to put less in.  It is a good idea though because oatmeal alone crashes my bloodsugar.  Is the 1/3 c oatmeal dry or after it is cooked?  I am trying so hard to quit gaining and start losing.  I have a bottomless pit for a pouch!

B: light multigrain english muffin, 1/4 c egg beaters, 1 sl ff cheese, 1 sl turkey pastrami
S: 2 envelopes nsa cocoa and 2 kiwi
L: 5 oz chicken breast, 1 slice multigrain bread, romaine and tomato
S: 2 envelopes nsa cocoa and 2 kiwi
D: 4 oz chicken breast, romaine and tomato, carrots and celery in broth, 1/4 c rice
S: 1 c nsa pudding and 1 c of ff milk in coffee throughout the day.
tons of crystal light and coffee and decaf.
1600 ish calories...this is the BEST I can do.  Daisy

A single serving of TVP is 1/4 cup. I put 1/3 cup instant oatmeal, 1/4 cup tvp and 1 cup plain soy milk into a bowl and stir it (I usually put in 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce but sometimes other fruit) and microwave for a minute; stir; one minute; stir; one minute...three minutes and it is a BIG bowl of oatmeal but with the milk and the tvp...it's 30 grams of protein just with that. Sometimes, instead of the tvp, I put in soy protein powder, a single scoop and cook it the same way. That's usually MORE protein. But it sticks with me for a long time. It's six am now and I won't be hungry till about 9 or 10 am. I'll be drinking water or have a small snack of the cheese and lunch meat..It all usually depends on how much I do between getting up and when I get to work.

Looks pretty good. 1/4 egg beaters is equal to one egg, right?

Maybe find out what your RMR is because you aren't really eating that much. I would stick with the veggies and skip the bread and rice, if it was me but if it's working for you...keep it up. Maintenance is very hard.

We used to do Friday Morning Weigh ins...I just keep forgetting! Maybe I'll try remembering again..

You ate next to nothing all day! I have a recipe for chili that I'm going to use Wednesday for our Annual chili cookoff..I've won four years out of five..this is the 6th year. This year I made home made adobo sauce. I put in chipotle chilis in adobo sauce last year and won again but this year, I'm thinking the chilis will be too hot so I made the sauce and no chilis..LOL. I can't leave it the same each year cuz, frankly, I can't remember what I did each year. LOL.

Keep after it. You'll find the right combination of exercise and calories to make that scale move in the right direction.

I'm playing with my vitamins and the times I'm taking them and sometimes forget because it's not habit yet. Something I found out yesterday..Calcium Carbonate works better if you take it with food. Calcium Citrate you don't have to take with food...Als, Carbonate needs acid to dissolve so because the RNY pouch is so small, it doesn't have alot of acid...hard to get that calcium out if you can't dissolve it.

Your list looks good. I like the tortilla pizza idea..not as much stuffing in tortillas!

Keep up the good work..See ya.

Good Morning, Good Morning !!

Ah yes, long weekends, a blessing in disguise for the overworked and underpaid , glad to have one coming this weekend...

Went to my monthly support group meeting last night, it was really good, we had a speaker on exercise, lots of good new info + reminders of stuff I already knew...Our Nut brought samples of ACHIEVE ONE protein RTD, tried alot of flavors, really like the mocha java the best, have been wanting to try this product but unwilling to order by the case and find out I did not like it, so been passing, now that I know I like some flavors I will be getting it again, great stats  @ 80 cals a serv and 15 grams of protein, 5 carbs (I think) and 0 fat + 1 fiber...

B - Starbucks venti nf sf triple gingerbread creme latte

S - 1 lemon cream horn ( TG they are out of the house again  )

S2-  homemade coffeehouse style coffee

L - artichoke garlic and mozz chicken sausage, 1/4 c steamed white rice and 1/2 c sauteed
mushrooms, peppers & onions with a squirt of mustard on the sausage

D - ham & muenster quiche with 1 tbsp artichoke garlic salsa

S - 1/2 serv of achieve one ( via multiple flavor tastings )

Water/crystal light 152oz                    Cals : 1064     Fat : 50     NCarbs : 82     Protein : 68

Carbs TOO high, protein TOO low... I thought I was getting in a decent amount of protein for the day until I put is all in and totaled up

P.S.  Dawn - like the sound of the tilapia with lime and cilantro, do you put it in a foil wrap to broil it?

Not the Same Dawn

Yes. we did put the tilapia in foil with the lime and cilantro..It usually sweats out alot of liquid but it just works so well.

When I found mocha flavored protein it saved me early out. I got so sick of fruity sweat protein..I really wanted teriyaki flavor protein (you know, more like a MEAL?) but when I found the mocha cappacino...that was heaven. Now I add NSA swiss miss to my coffee just because it tastes so darn good.

Our local support groups are good too. I get alot of good info out of them. Tonight is the local I'll be going to on my way home. We have one on Saturdays once a month in our small town..

You did good! I bet without that cream horn your calories would have been about 200 less...that would have given you more room for more ham and cheese..and up the protein some too. It's all a trade off. I'm greedy over calories! They have to include some protein or no-go (most of the time).
