Wow. If you mentioned a family reunion before, I missed it. Family history is my favorite past time...I started about 15 years ago and went back one name, then when I hit a brickwall on that name I picked a maiden name and moved on...then Iwent to my husband's family and did the same thing. I absolutely LOVE genealogy..I organized my husband's family reunion in Iowa with his cousin's wife. She was in Virginia and I'm in California. The internet was invaluable in that deal..setting up rentals and food...we had a BLAST.

How are those McDonald's Ice coffees? I've had coffee at Starbucks now (not impressed, mine is better and cheaper)

Great list. And great numbers. Protein seems a bit low for having a whole serving of pepperoni...must not be as much protein as I would think..AND you got in three beers..Cool. next weekend is my beer weekend. We've got lots of stuff planned for the long weekend.

Keep up the good work. See ya.

The family reunion is 4th of July weekend in Tennessee.  I'm excited about it. It's every other year and we always have a good time. We are coming back Monday morning BS my daughter, kristina, leaves for christian camp Tuesday morning.

McDonalds iced coffee is really good. They just started making Sugar Free and it's much better because the regular one is way too sweet. It's even better than Starbucks iced coffee (to me) and much cheaper. The large sugar free vanilla iced coffee is only $2.20.

We had our first ever family reunion in Montana last July. it was for anyone descended from my great grandparents who wanted to show up. As far away as Arkansas and California and most from Montana where we were all raised..I'm the un-official family historian, I guess. I've done more research than anyone since the early 50's and found all sorts of stuff no one ever knew (the name of the 10th child of my ggparents, the one that lived 3 days; the missing sister of ggdad's mom; real names of ggm's siblings, and the real mother of gggd) There were some really outrageous stories but I found out the truth..

My son got the opportunity to hear alot of the childhood antics of my dad. He was so excited. It's really important that kids hear those stories. I listened to my ggm as a child and found it facinating. Had I been a better listener, I'd have been better in history too. LOL.

I'm driving by McDonalds this morning, I think. LOL.

Hey Dawn~

Am I too young to post here? I like it here better. People here eat like me. Although today is not the best example of that.

B - 1/2 c. fat free cottage cheese w/ splenda, sf hazelnut syrup and 1/4 c. kashi (on the go to church)
at church: 1/4 a bagel and cream cheese, coffee with creamer and a cup of diet iced tea
at a street festival: 2 bites of hot dog with bun (from the children), 16 oz. SF egg custard snowball
L - 3 oz. deli roast beef, pepperjack cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms and peppers in a Flatout Light Italian wrap, 3 strawberries
back at the street festival: another bite of hot dog, a couple handfuls of popcorn, 20 oz. decaf w/ half and half from 7-Eleven
pre-workout: lightly salted rice cake w/ 1 tbsp peanut butter
post-workout: pistachio protein shake
D: 2 stuffed cabbage rolls, 1/4 c. curry cabbage stir fry w/ onions, carrots, and edamame
dessert - 1/4 c. NSA butter pecan ice cream w/ 1 tbsp sf chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a sprinkly of Kashi GoLean Crunch

According to my food journal this all comes up to about 1300 calories. Not good since I burned about 400 in my workout today. Tomorrow is a new day!

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!

Too young? Psh...no. I came to the grads board when I was told to eat more by my surgeon..that was 11 months out. Carla W was doing the accountability and I started in and when she left over a year ago, I took it up.

My need is to bounce what I'm eating off of others and to help others get used to keeping track to get BACK on track if they need or eat more if they need. All sorts of people from different bents are here. I try and keep track of who has to lose and who needs to gain but...there are lots of people, I'm not too good most days.

I stay at about 1600 calories a day to maintain and that works for me. Some have to stay lower (1000-1200) to maintain and some more. HIgh protein (over 100 grams), high water (about a gallon) and low white carbs (little to no bread, pasta and rice) is what I do...everyone is free to do what they have to do..It tends to help me control that reactive hypoglycemia. I find that if I eat more protein with more calories I won't gain but if I eat carbs with low calories..I might gain.

What this usually does for all of us is give us ideas on what to eat (especially me! I get great ideas for meals here from you all!).

None of us is perfect but we keep trying. Keep up the good work. See ya.
