I HAD GASTRIC BYPASS IN 2008 AND WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL.  HOWEVER MY 23YR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN STRUGGLING HER WHOLE LIFE WITH OBESITY AND AS DECIDED BESIDES THE WEIGHT SHE HAS OTHER COMORBIDITIES (SP?) BUT WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE DECIDING WHAT THE BEST WAY FOR HER TO GO WOULD BE? THE SLEEVE WAS NOT AN OPTION WHEN I HAD MY SURGERY IN 2008 AND I HAD WAY TO MUCH WEIGHT TO LOOSE FOR THE LAP BAND.My 23yr old also has too much weight to loose for the lap band.  She has about 60lbs to loose and is well over 35 on the 2014 BMI INDEX.  I would greatly appreciate hearing from those of you that could help shed some light on our decision making please? TY for your time.

I would say it would depend on perhaps how/why she gains weight.  The sleeve is simply restrictive whereas the bypass is restrictive but also has the malapsorbion properties.  For me, I was not an overeater really but had issues with my metabolism so restrictive alone probably would have done NOTHING for me.
