I'm 4 years out, and still learning how not to use food when I'm sad, happy, stressed, bored, etc. Recently gained 20 plus. Need to knuckl down and get the lead, ... er, ... fat out.
We all could use a little encouragement sometimes. I'm more than 20 in the past 3 months, due to some unusual cir****tances. One of these days real soon, I'm sure I'll buckle down and get to work on losing that again. .....
Hello, I'm 12 years out and went through iron deficiency. Iron pills didn't work for me. I went for iron IV injections for 8 weeks and took care of the situation. The reason I found out I was iron deficient was I was craving ice. My daughters talked me into going to the Dr. And get my usual blood test and they came back so bad. Got the iron through my vines and I'm all better.

Hi Lisashe -
You've certainly gone through a lot -- I've been through many of these things myself: the intussusception was a nightmare. We are both lucky they diagnosed it in time! I could have been fatal. The anemia I suffer from as well. You really need to get infusions, and somehow you need to find a doctor who will accept whatever you have to offer -- a clinic, anything. Supplements don't do it, foods don't do it. Not with low levels like you have. Vitamin D is cheap enough to get, though again you need massive doses to get you up to par. Please try to find a clinic that will help you. Thankfully you are at 200 and have kept the majority of the weight off. I was close to your highest weight as well. 200 is livable. I have a lot of stomach issues as well, and rather than take the medications offered to me that would possibly make me gain weight or give me other side effects I do not want to risk, I have had to accept major food restrictions. I have to avoid gas, I have gastroparesis and diverticulosis which have opposite diets. So I am extremely limited in foods. I was never told to take calcium CITRATE, so for 8-1/2 years I took CARBONATE which was not absorbed. Now I have osteoperosis. I might have avoided that. But it is what it is. I've lost 4 teeth. My brother-in-law Joe has ONE tooth in front. But he goes out, he works, he makes people laugh. You have nothing to be ashamed of, honey. I admit I smile for pics with my mouth closed. But you'll get stuck in your apartment. Please beg and plead if you have to to get medical people to help you. Sometimes they have hearts. Sometimes dental colleges will do work for practice. Try calling them? xox

Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you can take glucose tablets. They are over the counter and come in orange and raspberry flavors.
Hope you are doing well now!

I sit here at my desk as a high school guidance counselor, all day listening to the way people treat each other. I read your original post and it just really got to me.
Regardless of whether the post is different than it was before, changed or whatever -- using that tone in your original post to another human being on this site is totally inappropriate. If one has experience and strength that has worked (to steal from 12th step programs), if you are intelligent you are capable of sharing it with caring and kindness. You don't need to stand on a throne and use your success to shame or abuse. This kind of behavior so angers me. Saying "Best to you" after it all just doesn't take away the initial bullying nature of your text, as "right" as it might be. Even if you THINK you have been in her shoes, you have not been in her shoes.

Hi and welcome back! You can do this. A few years back I gained about 15 lbs - can't remember the exact number cuz it scared the poop out of me. I buckled down and did low carb, so protein, meat, fish, chix and grilled veggies, eggs for breakfast. You should get 65-85 grams of protein in each day. Calories I would say see a nutritionist for that. You will lose again. We had our surgery the same year. I had mine in July of 2004. Feel free to reach out if you need support.
Good luck!!!

Okay quick post. I need some advice/help. Rnygb 8-2004. Start wt was 320. Lost down to 150, no problems at all. Started gaining back in 2012, have gain roughly 100#. Yesterday, i started the 5 day pouch test. Going good so far, but what i need to know is what amt of calories/protein/carbs should i try and get in daily after this pouch test. Has anyone gained and got back on track and lost?
Awww, I am sorry. The revision you had in 2011 got you results? Was it a true revision or just one of those endoscopy suturing/stapling etc. to tighten the stoma? If it was one of those stoma tightening surgeries, you can always get a true revision. You may want to consider a duodenal switch.
Do not feel defeated. "dust yourself off and try again"!
I had a crap band and revised to a sleeve. I've not lost a lot with my sleeve but I am certainly not where I started with my band. I am not thin but I guess I kinda feel okay with me. I can choose to do the things to lose my excess weight. We have options! It takes dedication and disciple to change. We have to want it and do whatever it takes to achieve our goals.
Take good care
Welllll, I had the ryn gastric bypass in 2001. I had a revision on 2011. The original surgery worked fine, I just did not work with it. I lost 149lbs, but in 7 years I have gain almost all of it back. Pretty defeated and looking to get back on track.
