Eatin' Good in the 20's Neighborhood...
Then my younger sister made me laugh so hard I cried, and not because she was being super funny. You see I have this port thingy that holds a tube that runs into my old stomach so I can drain my old stomach of fluids until I have my next surgery and it sticks out right under my left rib cage and makes laughing a PAINFUL experience. She has this gack stuff that makes very convincing fart noises. This would not be a problem if I were mature enough not to get a good chortle out of fart noises, but apparently I am not that mature. She just kept doing it and doing it and I was like "Oh Cathy stop - it hurts!" as I am clutching my side and laughing and she thought I wasn't serious so I did that until the pain got so intense tears started rolling down my cheeks. Then it was not so funny, well it is now, but then not so much. After that I took 2 pain pills and slept until just about an hour ago.

Working on a 24 oz bottle of water and I think I'm going to have a decaff coffee with creamer to soothe my aching gut. Please, please tell me you're doing better than me! Amy 293/140 - AT GOAL!

It wasn't McDonalds for me pre-op ****il they started carrying their premium chicken sandwiches I probably ate at McDonalds 1-2 times a year) it was this semi-fast food restaurant we have here in Wiscondin called Culvers that specializes in home made custard and really awesome burgers - but what got me were there chili cheese dogs. I would go through the drive thru and get 2-3 chili cheese dogs, a large order of fries and a strawberry shake. Of course I went through the drive thru because I was too embarassed to order that in the store (as I should have been). Now a days I get a chili cheese dog occasionally and eat mostly just the dog and chili and cheese. They don't taste as good as they did pre-op so I don't go out of my way to get them. I feel the same way about the topping and all the extra tortilla on the wraps - I ask for 1/2 the dressing and then pull most of the empty-calorie tortilla off to get to the good stuff. And besides, the part that tastes the best is the chicken so who needs the tortilla!

. But if it works for you - awesome. It all sounds good to me, I just echo what Mike said - a little extra protien never hurts. Have you ever plugged your daily intake into a site like fitday.com or I think there is one called sparkpeople that the folks on the Main board seem to like? It'll help you see how many calories you're getting, where you're getting them from and so on. I know you are still relatively newly post-op so you aren't going to be able to get many calories, but eventually you're going to need to get more calories (shocker I know, but it is possible to eat too little to lose weight) and when that happened for me fitday really helped. Keep up your water intake and I hope to see you on the thread tomorrow evening! Amy 293/140 - AT GOAL!
