Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting. Been in a wierd mood post op. Kinda worrying me. I am barely getting in my liquids, can't/haven't tried any protein yet (which is a big "no-no") but I can barely make myself drink the water I want.

I really just want to get past this liquid crap so I can eat a cheese stick or something for protein. I am deathly afraid of these protein shakes I have, because they all taste like **** and my tastes have changed dramatically after surgery. Going to try and make myself drink a protein shake today, because my body is getting pretty week now. Uh, oh - so in the last 2 and a 1/2 weeks, I have lost 37lbs already...Pretty excited about that. Granted the week before surgery was running an hour every day and drinking nothing but liquid. I just want to eat something with texture! Haha, bean burrito, YES PLEASE! Wow, im in a wierd mood, peace.

I'm so sorry you're in a funky mood... take heart in knowing that it is normal :)  Tha****er you're trying... is it hurting your pouch?  I know water hurt my pouch brand spankin' new post op.... when mixed with Crystal Light like powders, it was easier on my pouch.  Have you tried that at all? What about sugar free popsicles for the texture issue?  They helped me too... I'm a fan still, of the green ones he he.

Are your shakes powdered?  Or Pre-Mixed?  Maybe make a big jug of it that you can sip on all day.  You're right, hun.. .the protein is uber important right now. Congrats on your weight loss though!! *Hugs*

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

funky moods are normal after surgery. i honestly believed i would be having liquids for the rest of my life. Real food seemed like something i would never be back at. But sooner or later the time does and will go by and you will wonder what you were ever worrying about! As for protein, i hated it too. What got me through was muscle milk light. The pre-made chocolate milk. It was like 10 oz and had 22 gr protein. SOOOO GOOOD. Like i would just drink it cause it's yummy. I would suggest trying that! Just make sure you shake it good! feel better :)

Off Topic ---------> Reese, where do you buy Muscle Milk Light (pre-made)? I drink profect but would love to have a yummy alternative.

I got mine at GNC or Vitamin world. I drank the chocolate milk or the chocolate mint. Yuummmy! its like 6 dollars for 4, a little pricey but TOTALLY worth it

Compared to profect, that sounds like a deal. Is it really milk or something meant to taste like milk? I'm thinking it might be a good way to curb my chocolate cravings.

It's not really milk, it's lactose free! which was good for me because in the begining i was lactose intolerant! I think it's a super great way to get your chocolate and protein in!

Oh, that is fantastic! That is exactly what I was wondering. I've become lactose intolerant since surgery.
