Hi everyone

I've been lurking here for quite some time and haven't really had much to post about.

But I recently ran across a very 20-somethings issue that I could use some advice on. I've entered the world of internet dating recently. I've been communicating via email with two potential guys and now I'm wondering- when do you explain about surgery?

I figure- be upfront, but how upfront? I mean it shouldn't have to be like a confession, but it almost feels like that for some reason.

Has anyone else had any experience with this? How did you guys handle it??

THANKS for your advice!

Right now, I haven't told anyone anything.  They're just dates.  If a guy is lucky enough to go home with me or become something more.... sees the scars or whatever.... then I'll spill.  Right now... I don't each much and am a light weight if I drink ha ha!

The more things the change, the more they're still the same.

so, im kind of blunt and honest. i do the internet dating thing too, simply because i have a career and am not interested in the club scene. i tell the man right off. from previous experience, men either are like, no way, your too pretty to have been fat, or hell no! i dont date former fatties!. but honestly, most men are cool with it, cause you're hot now! but, like jaci said, if you are uncomfortable telling him until it becomes an intimacy issue, then don't. i do, becasue i know it is a big part of my life now, and it will help him to understand why im so picky about food, why i eat every 4-5 hours, and why i don't drink soda or eat rice or whatnot. the last guy i dated, was totally cool with it. besides, if he can't take all your flaws, F**k him....well, actually, no, LOL, but he can lick balls for being a dick.  Good luck finding mr right, mr right now, or mr tonight!!!

I waited until I was further out to date.... when I met somebody and it started to go further is when I told him about having surgery. We were going to be 'exclusive' at that point and I knew he would be seeing me more and how I eat/cook/types of food I keep around and I just wanted somebody who was supportive... if he wasnt going to be then he could hit the door :-) I think its a hard question because if you are earlier out and still far from goal you will be changing SO much that it can be hard on a new budding relationship. IMO I wouldnt personally annouce it in the beginning - why tell if after a few dates things dont work out?

I just recently started talk to a new girl, and I told her right away.  In the first conversation, I think.
