Ok I'll try to explain this I have seen it....but note I did not have the RNY. This is apparently something that started on the graduate board (1+ years out) as a way to test your pouch and see how small it is...or something like that. Apparently they go on a 3 day only liquid diet (water and liquid protien) and then 2 days of soft protiens to see how much they can shrink their pouch and how much it now holds. Atleast that is the gist of it that I got.

What is it? IMO its a way people are trying to blame their surgery/body for poor weight loss or weight regain instead of their own actions. Basically its a 'test' to see how large your pouch is.... people do it because they think their pouch has stretched - it hasnt. Its extremely rare for that to happen.   The 5 day pouch test as well as the plateau buster diet are just a waste of time IMO... just do what you are suppose to and things will go the way they should. Ive also seen some people using the 5 day pouch test as a plateau buster... *shakes head*

there is a website where people can get the details. hop over to the grad board and click on it...but, i wouldn't recommend this option unless you are about a year or more out, as it can cause some severe issues in "younger" pouches because it may bot have healed. I also checked with my doctor before attempting, and he suggested not doing it as described, but rather a modified version that would not affect my health. Good luck!
