I am just as shocked as everyone else. I'm reading that they think it may be drug related. Oh.....to get caught up in that kind of world.

He was a massive drug addict, So i dont doubt that one bit.  Its a risk that ppl who do drugs take.

My condolences, unless it proves to be illegal drug related. Not to be insensitive, but, if that's the case, serves him right! And if it is suicide, I can have no respect for anyone who takes the easy way out of their life and ends it. I hope neither of these rumors prove to be true, and his legacy will be that of a skilled actor.  Not one of a illegal drug user or someone who would take their own life.

I second what you said exactly. Illegal drug related - no excuse. Suicide - You lose your right to make choices like that when you have a family and more when you have a child.  It is the ultimate selfishness to end your life when you have a child (and Heath had a baby). I really hope this was accidental (well, truly I wi**** never happened).  He was a great actor.  It stinks that this has become such a circus act.  I watch the news because I am a Political Science major and I write political columns for my college newspaper so it is my job to know what is going on in the world, and all afternoon and evening CNN and FOX have been OBSESSING over it.  I am nauseated by all of it.  They are staked outside his apartment for crying out loud.  He deserves dignity in death and they are treating his death as if it were the same thing as Brittney flashing her crotch to the cameras.  So DUMB. *steps off of soap box, taking deep cleansing breaths*

Let's not talk about Fred Thompson dropping out of the racing leaving John McCain (god for bid) on step closer to the republican nomination. How can anyone NOT want to end the war?

From about 4-7 I was flipping between Fox, CNN and MSNBC and after the intial anouncement, John Gibson on FOX stayed on that topic for over an hour and they really didn't have any new information.  On CNN they just kept interrupting regular programs to give "updates" that weren't really.  Anyway, that was just what I noticed.   PS - He finished filming Batman already, so it'll probably still be released on time and with him as joker.  It is just too bad he won't be around to enjoy the success.

Aren't we all being a little quick to judge?? Just because he did drugs that means he deserves to die?? Then maybe so do we.... Is there one among us that isn't here because of a food addiction?? I don't know what was going on in his life but I am saddened by his death. He had an addiction and so do we, the only difference is that his kills fast, ours kills us slow. So now we are in this predicament because we can't control our hunger and we need surgery in order to control it. What I think needs to happen is for pharmaceutical companies, psychologists, and Doctors to provide better treatment than cold turkey. And for people to become more willing to talk about what's bothering them because often, drug use, is a method to fill a gap inside the person, like we do with food.

It's a waste. Absolute waste.  It's a shame that people only have sympathy for him if he died under specific cir****tances. I'm very  hard-nosed about illegal drug use, but if that were the case he deserved the chance to clean up. Not like he was known for being an addict and causing car wrecks while DUI. If he did commit suicide, then it's a tragedy that he couldn't see what his life was worth. One of the saddist things about suicide is that your pain becomes the pain of many, as I saw demonstrated when a friend commited suicide.
