all day i've felt so blah. don't have any energy to drink, can't 'eat' my soup either. just feel so weak and hormonal i guess you could say. i've lost 16 pounds since my surgery friday, but i can't help but get scared and think this wont work for me either. i know it's probably normal post-op stuff, it's just really got me down today. i see y'alls profiles, and i just cant seem to picture it being me one day feeling so confident and upbeat. bah. maybe it's in the air today...

Hey Erica, I had my surgery 3 days before you.  I have been feeling the SAME way.  It sucks but we'll get through it.  You've lost 16 lbs which is AWESOME!!!!!  It WILL work for you because it's a tool, and YOU will make it work for YOU.  *hugs*  We WILL be as successful as these other guys!  If you need to, feel free to PM me.

The way you feel in 100% normal (hell I’m 8 months out and feel that way still sometimes!). Your hormones are going crazy and your body is in shock. It will get better and you CAN do it. It takes a lot of courage to go after this surgery, you were strong enough to ask for it and go for it and you’re strong enough to get thru this! In a few months you'll have new pics up and this will be a distant memory!

  Hope your day gets better!

It might take up to a month for you to feel completely recovered, so hang in there...16 lbs. so far - you're doing great!

You'll get to that point, where you are confident and upbeat.  You are in the hard part right now.  Keep in mind that as your body burns fat a lot of estrogen (which is stored in fat) is released - so your system is flooded with estrogen right now, and we all know what that can do to your mood.  Now I don't know if that makes it any easier, but it is something to think about. My surgeon put his patients on lexapro post-op for the quick weight loss phase.  I refused it at first, but sure enough a couple weeks out I was really weepy for no apparent reason, and so I started taking it and as soon as it kicked in (2-3 weeksish) I felt much better.  If it gets to that point, don't be afriad to talk to your PCP about starting on some kind of anti depressant - they can make a big difference, especially in that rapid weight loss phase.
