Am I the only African American Getting WLS in their 20's

Hey Everybody- Im new to the site and everyone has been great thus far!  I just wanted to know if anybody is getting or has had VSG.

I had the VSG almost a month ago...things are doing wonderfully and I'm starting to get to the point to where I'm about to say I love having it. It's definitely turning into a habit for me (the way my eating habits have changed), although this past week was harder at not envying the food everyone else around me was eating, but I managed to not have a single bite! Anyhow, if you have anymore questions, I can try to answer them, but I'm definitely far from being an expert.

Hello! I had the vsg on 2/8 this year. i've really started to love it, and it's helping me out a lot. i know i'm only a month and some odd weeks out too, but if you have any questions don't hesitate! the vsg board is really great too, they have a lot of people over there who are really really helpful! good luck!

How was your experience?  Are you on solids yet?  Is it difficult to eat?  Are you on an exercise plan?

Hey!  You're not alone--I am African American and I just had RNY last Tuesday and I am 22.  I'm not sure about anyone having the VSG though.  Welcome to the boards!

Hey I am African American, and I am still 19 but will  be 20 at the time of surgery.  I plan on having my DS later this year (november or december) or early next year
