Here is a link to a great post to help those of you whose surgeries are upcoming...It is not all inclusive though... http://quixoticwls.org/forums/showthread.php?t=255 I would add CPAP machine if you have sleep apnea (some surgeons absolutely require it if you have it), asthma inhalers.... What else would you guys recommend?

Wow, great link, looks like they have mostly everything covered!!!  I overpacked and didn't end up using lots of stuff I brought....ear plugs could have been useful because of loud roommates!!!  I also used my robe and footie socks with the anti-slip grips on the bottom which I walked around the hospital in....

I just have to reiterate - CHAP STICK - it will save your life.  When you have surgery your mouth was likely hanging open and since you don't really get anything to drink for a while after surgery chap stick is essential.  It was the first thing I asked for, well, after my mommy.

A camera! and don't forget to take those measurments before surgery. A bathrobe,  umm I second the chapstick.  And I would just like to say before I went into surgery I was told to take as little as possible, and this was the best advice I recived.

I like the idea of bringing a camera...i didn't bring one and looking back it would have been great to have photos to remember such a pivotal day in my life...

Great timing on this post.  My husband and I were just talking about what I should think about bringing.   With all the new approved people on here--it is just a great post. Thanks! ~ Leslie

I certainly overpacked! My husband took home almost everything..lol. Chapstick,my own blanket,slippers,mp3 player, cpap machine, cell phone and loose fitting coming home clothes was what I used. It's also a WONDERFUL idea if your hopsital doesn't provide it to have whomever is bringing you home bring a pillow. The car ride home is bumpy! :)
