...That was actually my first trip to Europe. I don't have any family that still lives there anymore, but now I have some freinds...Some cool kids who are studying to be english teachers at the Teachers College in Chelm, Poland...And a couple of Polish freinds I met at a pub in Ireland who took us on a Sunday drive through the mountains...

A pierogi is similar to a ravioli or potsticker. The shell is more like the texture of a dumpling then pasta though. It can be filled with anything. My favorites are potato and cheese, ground meat, and saurkrout. They can be served boiled or seared or sauteed, and are really good with carmelized onions on top and sour cream on the side. They are a comfort food for me!
